Reno Tahoe International Art Show- Booth 506
September 12-15, 2024Reno Sparks Convention Center, Reno, NVThis 4-day show is the fastest growing art fair in the US. It is uniquely structured with participants ranging from international and national galleries to independent artists, short film programming from around the world, and one of the nation’s largest presentations of sculpture. I attended as part of the Santa Fe “Art City” contingent. The show drew over 60 galleries, more than 200 independent artists, and was attended by more than 7000 collectors, art buyers and designers.
TIME MACHINE: Perception, Memories and Transits between Past and Future
May 18 - 31, 2024Palmieri Foundation, Lecce, Italy Organized by Primo Piano Special ProjectsCurated by Dores SacquegnaTime Machine was a multidisciplinary contemporary art exhibition, and through artistic expressions such as visual arts, music, cinema, and performance, becomes a fluid archive, which is at once visual, sound and poetic, proposing different and unexpected places of reflection on the present. The exhibition is divided into two cycles and experiments with time as a transitory nature, revolving around the human condition between past and future. It is up to the viewer to decide from where and how to enter: one could start from memory and its de-construction to reflect on questions of identity, time, memory, history, traversing its discontinuities and temporary states or one could dwell on the idea of flux or landing place where nature is unpredictable, and time is irreverent.

Embodying Spirit: A Nine Woman Show

In 2019 Lauren Mantecón, nationally recognized abstract artist and teacher, launched “Dive Deep” an innovative 10-month Mentorship Program that considers the subconscious narrative of each individual while cultivating technical skills. This program moves away from the typical workshop model and the common linear academic trajectory. Lauren asks her mentees for serious dedication and sincere inquiry from the inside out.
In this exhibition, nine women from across the country were invited to share what Embodying Spirit means to them. Over the past two years, each artist in the group cultivated their individual style and developed a deeper awareness of the soul realm.
This group of women represents a potent collective voice giving powerful artistic expression to the inner spirit.
